Despite my enthusiasm for the challenge, I noticed a couple of niggles that were beginning to emerge due to pushing the mileage up from a not ideal base level. From past experience, I recognised the potential consequences of pushing through these discomforts without addressing them.
Upon reflection, I realized that continuing with marathon training at my current pace would not only risk exacerbating these issues but also demand a significant amount of time and energy. Considering my other commitments and priorities, I made the decision to drop back to my normal half marathon training plan. While initially frustrating, this decision aligns with my long-term well-being and allows me to maintain balance in my life.
